Involving local population in the management of national parks

The NGO "Biodiversité au Katanga" BAK used photos from the archives to see if people remember people figuring on the photos. This was done in order to get a measure on what the local villages still remembered about the National park Upemba, the limits of the park and other. At the start of the park many local people were recruited to work for the exploration missions. The results were very interesting and for the exhibition at the zoo, one poster shows the results of this study.
